I just got home from running sound at a wedding. It was pretty cool, other than the face that the groom had no idea what he wanted for me to do. He just asked me to play whatever i could find. He did give me this cool cd called Mondern Bride or something like that. It had all the classic wedding songs and some other cool ones too. It was held in my church’s building which doesn’t look like a church at all and thats what appealed to the groom. Its cool that i run sound as a volunteer at my church during the services and i get paid to run sound during a wedding. I made 15 and hour, pretty good for how little work there was in what i had to do. Basically i played a song for the flower girls, bride of honor/bride’s maids/grooms guys and best man. Then i played the bridal chorus, which is the one that is usually played on an organ, then i just cut the music out until they were about to leave the stage and then i put on the bridal march song, which is the same as they usually play in other weddings. After that, all i had to do was to play a random mix of music during the reception. It didn’t take all the much effort and i got $75 out of it.
Other than that not much else is going on, right now in World of Warcraft, im a level 16, I like being a hunter because with my pet i can take on beasts that are a lot higher than me, usually i can kill a level 21, but that is with some potions that i don’t need to sit down for and while using my pet. Pretty soon im going to upgrade to the retail version of Burning Crusade because i like my character and im this far already so i think im going to take this one all the way and then start working on some of my other characters that are level 1 through 4 that i started, but got somewhat bored with pretty quick, plus most of them are on random servers, and my current character is on a server where a few of my friends play on.
One idea i had for my dj setup was instead of getting a cd turntable, i just buy an older ibook and use two laptops rather than a laptop and a turntable, it seemed like a good idea cause i found some on craigslist that were going for 200 or so, but the only problem i would have is i couldn’t cue up songs as well as i can on the cd turntable.
